Circle of Friends
The following is information on the Circle of Friends Family Support Program provided by the Boys & Girls club of Kamloops.
The goal of Circle of Friends is to create a safe place where young people gather to talk and move through the stages of loss. The gorup is facilitated by experienced gourp leaders who guide and support participants through this difficult process. For the purpose of this group, loss is defined as any issue the child is struggling with and includes: speration/divorce, death of a loved one, loss of a pet, moving and peer challenges. Throughout the program, children are encouraged to seek out and identify coping strategies to help them deal with their feelings and frustrations as they move through their daily lives at home, at school and in the community. This is a ten week program offered for children ages 6-12. this program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Fmaily Devleopment.
There is a $10 commitment fee, through it can be waived if it is a barrier for families. Please contact:
